Construction work near the Uxbridge Brook on Centennial Dr. will close the road to through-traffic and pedestrians from Tuesday, Sept 18th until Friday, Sept 21st and then again from Monday, Sept 24th through Friday Sept. 28th. The road closure will take place right at the Uxbridge Brook.
The closure will take place between 7:00am - 5:30pm each day. The road will be reopened each evening and on the weekend of the Sept 22nd and 23rd.
Construction crews are excavating along the Uxbridge Brook underneath Centennial Drive to install a temporary culvert. This temporary culvert is required to divert the flow of the Uxbridge Brook into a closed pipeline that runs along the path of the existing culvert.
Once the Uxbridge Brook is contained in a closed pipeline, construction crews can demolish the buildings at 34 and 36 Brock St. The temporary culvert will prevent building debris from falling into the existing culvert and entering the Brook.
Centennial Drive will be rebuilt once the excavation is complete and will be re-opened to through-traffic.
Visitors to shops and businesses along Bascom St. are encouraged to use the parking lot at the Fire Hall for visits of 3 hours or less. For parking up to 10 hours, a new parking lot is available at the rear of 12 Main St. North. The parking lot on Centennial Drive remains open during construction.
